Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: January 1st, 2026
By dropping off equipment (including but not limited to lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, generators, snow blowers, ATVs, UTVs, or other small engine-powered devices) for diagnosis, repair, maintenance, or service at Norwalk Small Engine Repair ("we," "us," or "our"), you ("Customer" or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Authorization for Repairs You authorize us to inspect, diagnose, and perform any necessary repairs, parts replacement, or services on your equipment. We will provide an estimate where possible, but you approve proceeding with work up to the agreed amount. Additional work may require your approval.
Minimum Charge There is a $50 minimum charge for any service, diagnosis, or shop visit, even if no repair is performed or if the issue cannot be resolved.
Payment Terms Payment in full is due upon completion of work and before equipment is released (pickup or delivery). Acceptable payment methods include Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, Credit/Debit Cards. We reserve the right to charge a fee ($25) for returned checks or declined payments. If payment is not made when due, a late fee of $20 per 4-week period (or partial) will accrue, beginning 7 days after the invoice is sent to the customer, on the outstanding balance until paid in full.
Storage Fees Equipment must be picked up promptly after we notify you that it is ready (via phone, text, email, or other contact method provided). A storage fee of $20 per 4-week period (or partial) will be charged starting 28 days after notification of completion if the equipment remains unclaimed. Storage fees accrue in addition to any unpaid repair balance or late fees. We reserve the right to lien, sell, or dispose of unclaimed equipment after 60–90 days (per applicable state law) to recover costs, after providing written notice.
Warranty and Parts Parts and labor we supply are warranted only against defects in materials or workmanship for 30 days from the date of pickup/delivery, under normal use. This excludes misuse, abuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or commercial use unless specified. No warranty is provided on customer-supplied parts, used parts, or parts not purchased through us. We are not responsible for failures, damages, or issues arising from customer-supplied parts.
Right of Refusal We reserve the right to refuse service or repair at our sole discretion, including but not limited to: equipment deemed unsafe, uneconomical to repair, incomplete/missing components, or if you fail to agree to these terms. We may also refuse pickup/delivery requests.
Pickup and Delivery Pickup and delivery services are available upon request and at additional charge (rates provided at time of scheduling, based on distance/location). You authorize us to transport your equipment for these services. We are not liable for damage during transport beyond our reasonable care. Delivery does not guarantee immediate release if payment is outstanding.
Liability Limitations We are not responsible for loss, theft, fire, vandalism, or damage to equipment while in our possession, except where caused by our gross negligence. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages (e.g., loss of use, rental costs, lost profits). Equipment is stored and worked on at your own risk.
Customer Responsibilities Provide accurate contact information. Ensure equipment is clean and free of hazards (e.g., no excessive fuel/oil leaks). Remove personal belongings. You warrant you are the legal owner or authorized to authorize repairs.
General These terms supersede any prior agreements. We may update these terms; continued use of our services constitutes acceptance. Governing law is the State of Iowa. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
Some small engines can have problems that are tough to pinpoint the issue without simply replacing more parts than needed and costing the customer more money. We use our knowledge and experience to decide what is best for the customer in both a functional and cost-effective way. At times we are unable to fully test all equipment in the same conditions as you may have experienced any problems. Please be sure to reach out if there are still any concerns that we were unable to find and repair. We will do our best to solve any problems to always provide a quality service.
By tendering your equipment, you acknowledge you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
